QLD:Lovers lane murder suspect seeks bail

A bail hearing is underway for a Brisbane man .. charged with strangling his 22-year-old
girlfriend to death near a popular lovers' lane site in March.

In the Brisbane Supreme Court today .. 22-year-old RHYS AUSTIN's facing charges of
murdering BIANCA GIRVEN.

Ms GIRVEN .. then the mother of a 21-month-old baby boy .. was allegedly strangled
after going with AUSTIN to a park near the Mount Gravatt lookout after the couple had
attended the inner-city Full Moon Festival.

AUSTIN's lawyer KENNETH FLEMING has told the court his client suffers from paranoid
schizophrenia and jail isn't the best place for his treatment.

Mr FLEMMING says the case against his client is circumstantial and there's no motive for murder.

The hearing continues this afternoon.
